A weekend of classes with the always incredible Donna Downey; what could be better? I had a blast creating two canvas albums and learning techniques for art journaling. The first album is heart shaped and is called "Heart and Soul." Here is the cover:
Donna has canvas pages, canvas letters and words in addition to her canvas albums. They are great to work with because you can paint, ink, and stamp on them.
On Friday night, we created an album called "Butterfly Moments." The butterfly is on one of Donna's canvas pages. Unfortunately, I mostly obscured my butterfly with my branch and my flowers, but he's there!
The edges of the pages are covered with torn, inked, pleated, and glued book text strips and canvas pieces left over from the butterfly page. My fingers were covered with glue after this part of the process.
We used Helmar 450 glue, which is the best ever for use on fabric and other surfaces. Helmar is based in Australia. The best thing about Helmar is that their glues work well even in Georgia's humid climate!
Now all I have to decide is what to put inside this cute album! Thank you Donna for your continuing inspiration!
